LabConnect, a global leader in agile central laboratory solutions, officially opened its China headquarters in the Wuxi National Hi-Tech District on March 11, injecting fresh momentum into the city's rapidly growing biomedicine sector.

Since its founding in 2002, LabConnect has provided comprehensive functional solutions for clinical trials, building a strong client base that includes top-tier pharmaceutical companies worldwide, many of which are currently advancing Phase III trials.

With the launch of its China base, the company is poised to serve as a strategic bridge for domestic drug developers seeking to expand internationally.

"Through LabConnect's global network, local innovations can now reach the world more efficiently," Xu Yi, chairman of Teddy Clinical Research Laboratory, a strategic partner with LabConnect in Wuxi, Jiangsu province, said.

Together, the two organizations aim to empower Chinese pharmaceutical companies to conduct global-standard clinical trials locally, generate internationally recognized data, and accelerate the overseas launch of their innovative drugs.

This partnership aligns closely with the rapid expansion of Wuxi's biomedicine industry, which is projected to exceed 250 billion yuan ($36.40 billion) in total output by 2025. As the sector's primary growth engine, the district has already cultivated a biomedical cluster valued at over 110 billion yuan.

To attract and support industry leaders like LabConnect, the district has developed a robust service ecosystem featuring tailored government support, strong platform resources, and enhanced collaboration among enterprises, universities, and supply chain partners.

At the March 11 inauguration, LabConnect CEO Wes Wheeler praised the district's "service + platform + collaboration" model, describing it as the ideal environment that international companies value most.
