Wuxi High-Tech Zone in Jiangsu province has taken a significant step in supporting the burgeoning OpenClaw project, an open-source AI tool affectionately dubbed "Lobster" due to its distinctive red lobster logo.

On Monday, the zone released a draft outlining 12 policies designed to drive growth from foundational support to industrial application, and from talent cultivation to compliance, with individual support reaching up to 5 million yuan ($726,120). Tech breakthroughs like embodied intelligent robots and smart inspection can receive the top value.

The policies include a 500,000 yuan reward for projects that obtain national approval and develop vertical models, such as industrial inspection and predictive maintenance using OpenClaw.

The zone also promotes the establishment of open-source labs that combine AI with manufacturing, offering up to 1 million yuan for leadership in developing open-source frameworks or setting industry standards.

In addition to technological support, Wuxi's policies extend to talent cultivation. One Person Company (OPC) startups are eligible for up to three years of rent-free office space. High-growth projects may receive up to five years of rent subsidies, and first-time entrepreneurs in the zone's OpenClaw community are eligible for a living subsidy of up to 120,000 yuan.

Previously, Shenzhen's Longgang district also announced measures to support OpenClaw and OPC development, including establishing "Lobster Service Zones" for free OpenClaw deployment services and offering subsidies to support OPC communities.
