China's railway network has transported more than 300 million passenger trips since Feb 2, the start of this year's Spring Festival travel rush, according to the national railway operator, China State Railway Group, on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, the railway system handled 18.1 million passenger trips, marking the fifth consecutive day in which daily passenger volumes exceeded 15 million. Since the 40-day chunyun travel season began, the national railway system has carried a cumulative 313 million passenger trips, with operations remaining safe, stable, and orderly, the company said.

On Monday, the railway system recorded 18.73 million passenger journeys, setting a new historical high for single-day passenger volume during the travel season. Railway authorities stated that transport organization and passenger services were strengthened to ensure safe, orderly, and efficient travel while supporting smooth logistics operations during the holiday.

The Spring Festival travel rush, widely regarded as the world's largest annual human migration, remains a key test of China's transport capacity and operational management each year.
