      (Xinhua)
      Updated: 2005-05-12 18:42

The Communist Party of China (CPC) and the People First Party (PFP) will work together to promote the ending of hostility across the Taiwan Straits, according to a communique of talks between top leaders of the two parties released here Thursday.

The communique, read out at a press conference held here by the PFP mainland visit delegation, says the two parties will join hands to promote the establishment of a framework for peace across the Straits and the formal ending of the state of hostility through consultations and negotiations in a bid to reach a peace accord.

They will also work together for the establishment of a military mutual trust mechanism to maintain peace and security across the Straits for peaceful and stable development cross- Straits relations.
