Imperial glaze
Suili Gongyu (Annual Tribute), currently on view at Tianjin Art Museum, spotlights the everyday ceramics produced each year by the imperial kiln factory in Jingdezhen, Jiangxi province, during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Known as dayun ci, meaning porcelain produced and transported in vast quantities, these wares were shipped to the capital for storage in the imperial warehouses. The exhibition, running until March 31, explores the varieties, production periods and scale of tribute porcelain, reconstructing aspects of daily life within the imperial court.
