As North China experienced a strong cold wave, Chinese railway operators activated emergency response plans to cope with the low temperatures, fully ensuring safe and smooth transport for passengers and cargo. The Datong Train Operation Section in Shanxi province established an emergency command group, deploying risk control measures at various stations. In transport scheduling, it focused on key links such as receiving and dispatching trains, shunting operations and vehicle anti-skid measures, to ensure smooth operations. In passenger services, stations promptly cleared snow and ice, installed anti-slip facilities and ensured adequate heating and continuous hot water supply in waiting areas.
