Former Chengdu official Bao Hui under investigation
Bao Hui, former director of the Standing Committee of the Chengdu Municipal People's Congress in Sichuan province, is suspected of serious violations of discipline and law and is currently under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation, the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission announced on Monday.
Bao, 62, a native of Yunnan province, joined the CPC in 1983 and started working in 1984. She spent over a decade at Southwest Jiaotong University before holding multiple posts in Chengdu, including head of the united front work department and the publicity department.
From September 2012 to 2018, she served as mayor and Party chief of Sichuan's Dazhou. She later took office as deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan provincial people's congress. In January 2022, she assumed the roles of secretary of the Party Leadership Group and director of the Standing Committee of the Chengdu Municipal People's Congress, retaining these positions until March 2025.
