Enhanced precautions for festival travel
Chinese railway operators have strengthened the responsibility system in various rail positions, to help safeguard the 40-day Spring Festival travel rush which will start on Feb 2. At Yuci Station in Shanxi province, one of the country's 44 major marshalling yards, managerial staff members called on employees to fully understand their crucial role in smoothly transporting thermal coal and holiday goods by rail. The station's hump yard workshop has implemented a three-guarantee measure — workshop leaders supervise teams, teams supervise key points, and team leaders oversee newcomers — laying a solid foundation for the upcoming Spring Festival travel rush.

The province's exports of mechanical and electrical products grew 11.6 percent year-on-year to 2.8 trillion yuan, representing 70.7 percent of its total exports.
