Hunan's Huaihua promotes its cultural cuisine
As the Fifth Hunan Tourism Development Conference was held in September, Huaihua city promoted its cultural cuisine to attract domestic and overseas tourists.
With 51 minority ethnic groups inhabiting Huaihua, it boasts various intangible cultural heritages, including 42 traditional intangible cultural heritage delicacies at or above the municipal level.
On Sept 16, a gourmet culture promotion event was held in Huaihua, showcasing the culinary heritage of the Huaihua region.
It featured two main categories. The first was about 10 famous dishes. It included 10 iconic local dishes, such as Zhijiang Duck, Longtan Cured Meat, and Tongwan River Snail.
The second section highlighted the concept of "food as medicine", featuring two dishes: Honeysuckle Stir-fried with Native Eggs and Stir-fried Organic Chili with Lily Bulb.
