A cutting-edge deep-sea green intelligent technology experimental vessel, named Future, made its national debut on Wednesday, marking a milestone in maritime innovation.

Future represents a novel category of modern ships, serving as a deep-sea equipment support vessel and a maritime "mobile laboratory".

Equipped with China's domestically developed intelligent information system and dynamic testing system, Future can facilitate real-time data collection, storage, computation, management, analysis, and application of all onboard testing equipment, fostering seamless data interconnectivity between ship and shore.

Designed for research, the vessel boasts marine navigation data, deep-sea detection sample processing, and storage laboratories. It holds diverse deep-sea equipment for sea trial verification, maneuvering, and operational support needs, and can transport a 10-ton-class manned deep-sea submersible for oceanographic exploration.

The ship is 110.8 meters long and 103 meters tall and carries a full load displacement of 7,000 tons. With a range of 10,000 nautical miles, it can independently navigate for over 60 days. Its modular design allows for efficient and convenient replacement and installation of components, equipment, and systems.

Future is set to embark from Wuxi and head to Lianyungang to undertake a series of deep-sea trials.
