Oilfield adopts international equipment standard
Daqing Oilfield Co, which operates China's largest oilfield in Heilongjiang province, recently adopted and published its first international standard for oil production equipment in the country.
The standard is for a submersible linear motor used in the oil and gas industry.
In 2018, the company's technology information department formed a standardization work team composed of more than 20 experts in the field of oil production equipment at home and overseas.
Over the past six years, the team has overcome differences in application environments, design standards and functional evaluations of submersible linear motors domestically and internationally.
"This standard plays a positive role in improving the quality of submersible linear motor products, promoting the innovative development of rodless lifting technology in Daqing Oilfield and expanding our overseas markets," said Wang Gang, director of the department. "We will continue to accelerate the transformation of advantageous technologies into international standards to contribute to the construction of a world-class modern oilfield."
The designation for the motors is ISO 6398-1 under the International Organization for Standardization.
