Viral video of students re-enacting assassination prompts investigation
A video circulated on social media on Tuesday garnered a lot of attention as it showed a performance titled "Abe Assassination" during a sports event at a senior middle school in Zaozhuang, Shandong province.
The video shows a student delivering a speech while another student uses a mock gun to shoot the student. The speaker then falls to the ground, and other students rush to stop the supposed shooter. Several students then display a banner bearing the words, "Two gunshots chilled the bones and polluted water discharged into the sea will leave future troubles."
The students' actions might not have been appropriate, but we need to be tolerant of their mistakes as they are still young, a staff member of the education bureau of Zaozhuang told eastday.com.
The bureau has instructed the school to investigate the event and submit a detailed report.
