Long-serving CPC members receive recognition
Retirement homes for cadres across the country held ceremonies on Wednesday and awarded commemorative medals to members of the Communist Party of China who have reached 50 years of Party service as of July 1.
The areas include districts, counties, organizations and military regions in Jiangxi, Guangdong, the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Shaanxi, Yunnan and Shanghai. The awarding ceremonies are part of the celebration of the 100th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China, and such events will continue until July 1, covering 7.1 million eligible Party members.
This year saw the first awarding of the "50 Years of Glory in the Party" commemorative medals, which will become a regular practice every subsequent year on July 1, the founding day of the Party.
The medal has a diameter of 50 millimeters and is made of copper and zinc alloy. In red and gold, it is composed of various elements including the Party emblem, monument, sunflowers and beams of light, symbolizing the Party's leading position, glorious history and great achievements and the unity of people of all ethnic groups.
