The Journey of Tea, a musical narrating the Chinese tea history, will be staged at the Guangqi Theater of the Chinese Academy of History in Beijing on April 12 and 13.
The musical centers around the adventures of Hua Yan, the protagonist, who in his dreams travels back to different periods of history, and experiences how tea drinking and making influenced people's life and way of thinking at the time. After he wakes up from the dream, he is inspired to carry forward the tea culture in the modern time.
