As for Jones, who is mentoring the NYO Jazz for the second time, he said: "We have a robust program representing the depth and breadth of America's Jazz orchestra and we are thrilled to share it with our brothers and sisters across the Pacific."
Jazz at Lincoln Center in Shanghai sits on the fourth floor of a historical building on Nanjing Road East by the Bund. And since its opening in 2017 the concert hall has been bringing in concert programs from Jazz at the Lincoln Center in New York. Every other week the center in Shanghai hosts public educational programs, when musicians visit local schools and introduce their music to students.
