Venom, a superhero film jointly produced by Columbia Pictures, Tencent Pictures and Marvel Entertainment, will be released in Chinese cinemas from Friday.
Eddie Brock, an investigative journalist portrayed by British actor Tom Hardy, incidentally bonds with an extraterrestrial symbiotic life form and becomes "Venom", shouldering the responsibility to confront evil forces.
The film premiered in Los Angeles on Oct 1 and was released across the United States on Oct. 5.
As of Nov 4, Venom had grossed $198.7 millionin the United States and Canada, according to Chinese online movie ticket service platform Maoyan.
