Highlights of the 20th China Shanghai International Arts Festival
1.Tosca
This creation by Teatro Carlo Felice was the only opera production from overseas on the program of the festival this year. Presented at the Daning Theater on Oct 20 and 21, this major production featured a cast of 170 people and realistic stage settings shipped from Italy. It was co-performed by the Italy Sicilian chorus and Italy's new Scarlatti Symphony Orchestra. One of the most popular operas of all time, Tosca was composed by Giacomo Puccini, and tells a tragic love story in Rome in 1800.
