Spanish consulate team wins Guangzhou soccer tournament

A team made up of players from the Spanish Consulate-General in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, won a soccer tournament by beating the team of the Guangzhou government 2-1 on Sunday.
Participants in the tournament, organized by Chinese Super League club Guangzhou R&F, included 22 teams from 19 consulate generals in Guangzhou, with three others comprised of players from local media, a school and the Guangzhou government.
It was the second consecutive title the Spanish side has won since the tournament was inaugurated in 2015.
According to Guangzhou R&F, the tournament was aimed at boosting grassroots soccer communication between overseas consulates based in Guangzhou and their Chinese counterparts.
