MINSK - BATE Borisov has won the Belarusian national football championship after snatching a draw in Sunday's match against Gorodeya on the fifth added minute of the match.
Dinamo Minsk, which defeated Vitebsk 4-1 on Sunday, would have taken the first place if BATE had lost, but the Borisov team managed to score at the end of the match, setting the final score 3-3.
BATE and Dinamo got the same number of points at the championship's table (68), but the club from Borisov won the title due to a better record in head-to-head encounters.
Shakhtar Soligorsk took the third place. It lost to Neman in Grodno in the final match 1-3.
